To help provide a digital network that any analog FM radio can use, I have built an AllStarLink simplex node (Node# 64425) on 432.200 MHz, on the same antenna that hosts the N0VRS-7 packet node (information here). Standard AllStarLink commands are available for this node.
Emergency Mode
SkywarnPlus Weather Alerts
SSTV Weather Images On Demand (See here for previous project notes)
When either a MDC1200 emergency hex is sent, or the DTMF of *5911# is sent, the node is placed into emergency mode. All currently linked channels are disconnected, an announcement is made, and the node is shifted into parrot mode for your message to be rebroadcasted. If using with MDC1200, this will decode any unit number, so make sure MDC1200 signaling is enabled on your personality channel. For DTMF, either program your radios current Emergency button, or a Speed Dial to send *5911#. To exit the emergency mode, dial *5910#.
Public safety alerts for Hancock County will automatically be broadcasted over the node. When an active alert is issued, the courtesy tones will change to signify an alert is active. The ID of the node will also change until the alert is cleared
By dialing *578#, a weather forecast image will be sent via PD120, which is in the style of the 1980's Weather Channel "Local On the 8s"
By dialing *579#, a radar image from the National Weather Service Great Lakes radar will be sent via PD120.
